At times computer repairs and its peripherals cost you more than its original cost. But to protect yourself from such a condition you don’t have an alternative. Still there are a set of few errors that could be rectified with the some clicks and selects. So if that can be done just by reading some related blogs then why not to give it a try. And climbing on the same wall I have listed a couple of problems that may stop you from working:

Program compatibility problems

Version: XP, Vista, 7

The problem that may frequently occur to your work is that you may be prone to problems with a program then in such a situation it’s advisable that before taking your system to program consultants check its website or Google the program’s name, version number and your version of Windows to see if there are any issues with it.

Also give the system compatibility full importance as this problem might be disturbing you as you would have tried and installed software that is not compatible with your versions of windows. You may get to know this by checking out the compatibility list if the situation is otherwise then try installing it as normal; if it fails, Windows 7 may offer to apply compatibility settings to it – see if these work.

Another problem may occur even if the program gets installed but doesn’t run, then you simply right click right-click its program shortcut and choose Properties > Compatibility Settings. Select your old version of Windows from the list and click OK.

But in case the above solution further fails to access then try ticking “Run this program as an administrator”; in Windows 7 you can also click “Help me choose the settings” to gain access to the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter. Probably this solution will surely give you the needed result.

PC keeps rebooting after Windows Update

Version: XP, Vista, 7

Another problem in the row occurs when your PC gets stuck in a cycle of rebooting during the update process, then the first needed steep is to undo the updates using System Restore. Also give a check that whether your computer was accompanied by a windows disc or not and in case it’s not there then  look for an option to access recovery options, or tap [F8] before Windows again starts loading, and then choose “Repair your computer”.

But if you are lucky enough to have an installation disc, boot from it, now this process firstly includes to select your language in case you forget to do it then probably your system may show you some such things that will screw your brain so do it carefully. After this simply choose “Repair your computer”. Let the case be any but when the menu appears choose System Restore to undo the update.

Show printer ink levels

Version: XP, Vista, 7

What will you do if your printer refuses to work? This happens specially when you have upgraded your system to a new version of Windows and this disables you to access your printer’s ink levels. But in case everything there shows thumbs up attitude then I can tell you sitting on the either side that Windows installed a basic driver without the function. This is surely a bad news!

In such a situation the wisest will be to check the manufacturer’s site for a dedicated driver and – if it exists – install that.

So when next time you are stuck with a non-functioning or a mal-functioning system its better you check out the list of above mentioned problems rather taking your system for a surgery.
